Driving drowsy is a very bad idea

July 03, 2010  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: Uncategorized

Thirty-eight years ago my brother enjoyed 4th of July fireworks in Santa Cruz (his annual tradition), then headed back home to S. CA.  He never made it.  He fell asleep at the wheel and hit the back of a big rig.  I love and miss my brother, and honor him every year by telling his story in the hope that I might save a life someday.  Please do not drive if you are drowsy! @teriincali

Dads in Singapore want parental equality

True gender equality benefits men and women

Callan Tham:

Singapore has seen an increasing number of women joining the workforce, but gender roles have been persistent, and continues to perpetuate. The acceptance of women into the workforce have not seen a reciprocity of the acceptance of men in equal parenting responsibilities, and the paternalistic power structure continues to dominate because of inadequate national policy to encourage a more equal society.

In the last 30 years, women have entered the workplace in droves. More girls graduate from our universities than boys. However, these changes are asymmetrical. Men have not moved into the domestic sphere at the same rate.

Singapore is still a long way from accomplishing true gender equality; true gender equality is more than just adequate rights and protection for women, it is also adequate rights and protection for both men and women. Only when this balance is achieved will we be able to say we have an equal society where both men and women are expected to contribute to society and their families in every way they can, and not just restricted to long obsolete pigeonholes of neatly packaged responsibilities dictated by gender.

Parental-Alienation-Singapore

Wee Cheng:

[T]oday daddy received an email from a friend congratulating me for our YouTube video hitting the 5,000 views mark!

I made this video for you ever since we were deprived of quality time together almost 600 days ago.

It is a tribute to all the other Singapore and overseas parents who are made victims of Parental Alienation by selfish personnels and authorities who prefer to live in denial and turn a blind eye to our sufferings.
